MARCH 21: NEW MOON IN ARIES 🌑✨

This morning at about 10:23am PDT, we had an initiatory New Moon at 0° Aries ♈️🌑🔥.

As the first major lunar event of the astrological New Year occurring in the first degree of the zodiac, this New Moon offers an epic rebirth for our emotional bodies and the opportunity to truly turn over a new leaf and commit to a fresh start in some area of our lives (see the house that contains 0° Aries in your birth chart to get a sense for where new life is most eager to bloom 🌸).

With the Moon forming a conjunction to Mercury and squaring its planetary ruler, Mars in Gemini, we’re all being invited to shed old limiting, demotivating, and fear-based mindsets so we can try on a new confident, enthusiastic, and courageous perspective that inspires us to chase our dreams and live this life to the fullest 🌻.

And with the New Moon opposing Ceres Rx in Libra and squaring Hekate (asteroid #100) in Cancer, we’re gently held and supported in any grieving that’s needed as we release the past and cross this seasonal threshold with an open and hopeful heart 💛.

Lastly, both Juno and Venus sat conjunct the lunar North Node in Taurus under this New Moon, suggesting the potential for a chapter of greater peace, stability, and ease on our relationship journeys and encouraging us to appreciate the simple joys and pleasures that love brings into our lives 🌷.

ARIES SEASON 2023: NEW BEGINNINGS ABOUND ✨

This afternoon, on this celebratory first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, the Sun completes yet another journey around the tropical zodiac and is born anew in the spirited and adventurous sign Aries ♈️🔥.

While Aries Season is always an opportune time to embrace new beginnings, shake off timidity and trepidation, and leap bravely into the unknown, this year the initiatory energy is amplified by TWO New Moons - one in the first (0th) degree of Aries tomorrow (3/21) and the second a total solar eclipse in the final degree of the sign on April 19th - AND by Pluto’s much-awaited ingress into Aquarius later this week 🌑🌹. If there were ever a moment to leave the trappings of the past behind and view ourselves, our lives, our potential, and the future of humanity and this planet through fresh and fearless eyes, this is it 🌈🔥.

That said, for the majority of Aries Season, the Sun will also be ruled by Mars in Cancer, so parts of this epic rebirth may fall closer to home ♋️. Perhaps step one is spring (or fall) cleaning and clearing. A symbolic gesture that we’re ready to shed the old and call in the new. Or maybe a bigger move is in order to truly heed the call of this new season and cycle in our lives. OR perhaps the Cancerian energy takes the form of the divine mother and we find ourselves called to activate on her behalf under these inspired skies. However this influence plays out for us, Cancer reminds us to nurture, accept, and love ourselves as we charge forward and to be gentle with our sensitive hearts (and those of others) if we experience any roadblocks or hesitation along the way 💛.

Battles are best won through heartfelt cooperation and the quest for common benefit, so embrace your empathy and understanding as super strengths, wield your vulnerability with courage, and allow your intuition to guide you through any challenges that lie ahead ✨.

MARCH 16 - APRIL 10: VENUS IN TAURUS ✨

Yesterday, the great love goddess Venus took a deep, calming sigh of relief as she returned to her earthy home sign Taurus for a short yet sweet stay ♉️.

In the plenteous and peaceful pastures of the Bull, Venus encourages us to slow down, re-ground, and embrace the beauty and pleasure of simplicity. She invites us to settle into our bodies, noticing where we’re in need of self love and care. And she calls us out into nature to heal, re-center, reconnect with our “soft inner animal” (a Steven Forrest-ism), remember our inherent worthiness, and realign with our true values 🌿.

This transit also brings the final conjunction between the lunar North Node in Taurus and its planetary ruler, Venus 💛. With these two celestial entities joining forces, our evolutionary growth strategy is to embrace ease, abundance, and stability, to fall back in love with these sacred vessels that carry us through life and this life-giving planet we call home, and to work together to create (or perhaps reawaken to) heaven on earth 🌻.

THE CONSCIOUS LOVE COURSE ✨

The first weekend in April, psychotherapist @taunelyons and I will be hosting a weekend-long course to explore relationships via the lens of psychology and astrology 💛.

In preparing for the course, I’ve found myself reflecting on the 19 year adventure I’ve been on with my husband, Eric, and all the growth we’ve experienced along the way. While our relationship has been a source of incredible joy and fulfillment, there has also been plenty of stress, jealousy, frustration, wounding, and healing ❤️‍🔥.

During one of our longer break-ups, I discovered astrology and it was a game changer ✨. It helped me understand my own relational needs, strengths, patterning, and evolutionary potential as well as those of Eric and my other loved ones. This is why I felt the call of partner with Taune and offer the Conscious Love Course. I’m so excited to share some of what I’ve learned with others 💕.

In this series, we’ll guide you through 4 major components of conscious relationships – attachment style, communication style, intimacy style, and conflict style – and will leverage astrology to help you better understand your personal relational style and conditioning. Through this work, you’ll deepen your self-love and self-awareness, while healing and shedding old relationship patterns that no longer serve you. At the end of our time together, you’ll be ready to begin a conscious (and more joyous) new chapter in your relationship journey.

What we’ll explore:

Ღ The Moon and what it tells us about our attachment style & familial relationship conditioning

Ღ The planet Mercury and how it influences our communication style & needs

Ღ The planet Venus and how it relates to our intimacy style and our approach to giving & receiving love

MARCH 7: FULL MOON IN VIRGO 🌕✨

Early this morning at about 4:40am PT, we had a divinely discerning and empowering Full Moon at 16° Virgo 🌕♍️.

With the Pisces Sun and Virgo Moon paired in perfect balance, this lunation gifts us the compassion to forgive and free ourselves from old suffering, while also offering us the careful discernment to say “no” or “not yet” to those people and circumstances that would serve to wound us again. And as we all know, Earth (Virgo) and Water (Pisces) offer us fertile grounds and necessary inputs for new life to grow where we’ve given it the protection of a well-placed “no” 🌿💦.

But Fire also plays its part in this Full Moon as it formed a conjunction with asteroid Lilith (#1181) and a square to Mars in Gemini. Lilith demands that we claim our inherent equality, embrace our wild truth, and step boldly and unapologetically into our power. While Mars asks us to confront any stuck pain and unprocessed rage that’s been hampering our motivation and thwarting our progress toward manifesting our dreams. In other words, it’s time to speak up, stand our ground, and stop shying away from conscious conflict. Both Lilith and Mars remind us that sometimes anger is a necessary ingredient in the fight for a better future. So heed the fiery call of this earthy lunation and see what it illuminates in the days and months to come 🌹.

To close, the Chandra Symbol for this Full Moon awakens Virgo in her crone goddess form. It reads “an old bald woman talking to her dog” and Ellias Lonsdale describes it as: “Unvarnished honesty and truth. Intent on getting at what is underneath, what is inside. You penetrate right through the personality, the ego-mind, without thinking about it. Knowing that life needs a voice and that being that voice is natural and inevitable. You feel close to the ground, basic, and foundational. Not very nice, not very easy-going. The pure straight-shooter, as real as can be, and almost too much so. You are the reminder of how it would be if we stayed with integrity and conviction and threw out the rest” 🔥.
